BJP gears up for Modi’s rally

Scooters rallies by women, distribution of pamphlets in buses, door to door campaigns in urban and rural areas and an appeal to the farmers to donate small quantities of discarded iron implements for the construction of the memorial for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel christened Statue of Unity in Gujarat are some of the ploys being used by the Bharatiya Janata Party to allure the public to the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s garjana rally in Dehra Dun city on December 15.

“We are leaving no stone unturned to attract the people to attend Mr. Modi’s rally which would be the largest one held in Dehra Dun so far,” said the BJP MP and in-charge of party affairs in Uttarakhand Radha Mohan Singh after a meeting with State level leaders and workers to chalk out strategies for the rally here on Tuesday.

The mammoth gathering at Mr. Modi’s rally will indicate the massive support the BJP is going to get in the coming Lok Sabha elections as the people were fed up with the Congress led Governments at the Centre and in Uttarakhand, Mr. Singh said adding the Congress was simply promoting corruption and had failed the common man on all fronts.

The party has asked all ward incharges of Dehra Dun and Haridwar cities to mobilise atleast 1000 volunteers each. Besides this a good number of party workers were expected from all the hill districts of Garhwal and Kumaon, said Ajendra Ajay a senior party worker.
