Bail plea of rape accused rejected

May 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - MYSURU:

The Seventh Additional District Judge Court on Saturday rejected the bail plea of the accused in a rape case filed by the daughter of a retired IAS officer.

The complainant had accused her brother-in-law of raping her when she was eight months pregnant. She had also filed another case against her in-laws accusing them of tormenting her for dowry. The in-laws have secured anticipatory bail.

Arguing that the allegations were false, Arun Kumar, counsel for the accused in the rape case, furnished reports to the court that medical tests conducted on the complainant did not indicate rape.
