Akhilesh presented portrait of his family by Kanhai brothers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was presented a portrait of his family by renowned artists the Kanhai brothers.

The 4ft X 7ft portrait made of gold leaf depicting CM Akhilesh Yadav, his wife and MP Dimple Yadav, their son and two daughters was presented to him last Monday in Lucknow.

“I congratulate you. I have not seen such a grand portrait. I am overwhelmed as both of you have spread the name and fame of Brajbhumi and Uttar Pradesh all over the world,” Mr. Akhilesh told Mathura based Padma Shri, Rastriya Kalidas and Yas Bharti awardee Krishna Kanhai and Govind Kanhai.

“CM Akhilesh Yadav had expressed a desire for such portrait of his family before us about six months back during a photo session held at his official residence,” Krishna Kanhai said adding that the portrait was made in 40 days.

The family in known for developing a form of painting known as Kanhai Art, using gold leaves and gem stones.
