Vyapam scam: CBI registers 10 more cases against 200 people

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday registered 10 cases against about 200 accused in connection with the Vyapam scam.

The first case alleges involvement of five persons in irregularities in the Police Constable Recruitment Test conducted two years ago, whereas the second case is against three persons in connection with the same exam.

While the third case is against 17 persons for their role in the pre-medical test in 2010, another case has been registered against 60 people for the tests conducted in 2008, 2009 and 2011.

Ten other accused have been named in the fifth case for alleged irregularities in the Vanrakshak Recruitment Examination-2013. The sixth case also relates to the same exam.

“Twenty people have been named in yet another case related to an examination conducted for the recruitment of police constables in 2013, whereas 34 people have been named for allegedly leaking model answer key to the Pre-Post Graduate examination held in 2012 and receiving illegal gratification,” said an official.

While another case has been registered against 45 people on charges of impersonation in the exams held in 2013, 48 have been named for the same offence pertaining to the pre-medical test entrance examinations conducted in 2008-2010.
