Two women washed away in flash floods in J&K

Two women were allegedly washed away in flash floods in Ramban and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said here today.

Rukhsana was crossing a river in Gool tehsil in Ramban district when she was washed away in the flash floods, they said.

Police and civilians recovered her body around two km down the river, they said, adding that the body was handed over to her family.

In another incident, Hamidi Bi was allegedly washed away when she was grazing her cattle in Mendhar area of Poonch district, officials said, adding that her body is yet to be recovered.
