Six army men injured in grenade blast in Poonch

Six army personnel were injured, one of them seriously, when a grenade exploded accidentally at a forward army post in Mendhar sector of Poonch district on Wednesday.

The grenade exploded during cleaning of weapons at Poona Post in Mendhar sector around 1030 hours, defence sources said.

One of the seriously injured army personnel has been identified as Lance Naik Salil. He has been airlifted to command hospital at Udhampur.

Five others have been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
