A top Shiv Sena leader is campaigning for the individual’s freedom to use Internet, by promoting Net neutrality.
Sena MPs will voice their opposition both in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to killing Net neutrality by allowing mobile service providers to block apps and websites and charge money from both consumers and businesses to use them, which is likely to go against the interests of users.
“I hope all parties realise the importance and voice their concern,” Yuva Sena chief and son of party president Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, told The Hindu .
Writes to TRAIIn a letter to the Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Mr. Thackeray said allowing telecom operators to kill Net neutrality would not only be ‘draconian’ but also mess up the entire utility angle of access to Internet.
