February 03, 2011 02:33 am | Updated 02:41 am IST - Pune:

The Crime Branch of the Pune police has arrested 24-year-old Vishambar Tarachand Agrawal on charges of having links with Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence.

The police have alleged that Agrawal and an Army jawan named Brijesh Singh were passing on sensitive information about defence establishments to Pakistan.

Pune Commissioner of Police Meera Borwankar told presspersons here on Wednesday that the accused had been under police surveillance for a long time, and that he was arrested after a tip-off at 12.30 p.m.

Ms. Borwankar said that Agrawal was about to pass on some sensitive information to an unknown person when he was arrested near the Alankar cinema in Pune.
