The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday summoned former Goa Tourism minister Fransisco Pacheco in connection with an illegal immigration racket.

Pacheco arrived at CBI’s office in Bambolim village near here and was being quizzed by the officials.

However, there was no official word on whether Pacheco was detained or not.

The former tourism minister has been booked by the CBI for using forged documents to send people abroad, especially America through his manpower recruitment agency, a charge the minister denied.

CBI had raided his house at Betalbhatim in South Goa on Wednesday and Thursday and froze his bank account.

Sources said three mobiles used by the former minister were also seized by the CBI sleuths.
