Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, currently recuperating after a heart surgery in Mumbai’s Asian Heart Institute, was slated to be released from the hospital tomorrow.
An official spokesman said in Guwahati today that the Chief Minister who responded well to the treatment and had shown remarkable post-operation recovery would stay in Mumbai for three more days after his discharge.
Mr. Gogoi was scheduled to leave for New Delhi on September six and likely to reach Guwahati on September eight next.
The Chief Minister underwent a bypass, aortic valve replacement and enlargement of the aorta procedure on August four last at the Mumbai hospital.
Mr. Gogoi had fallen ill while attending the National Development Council meet at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi and was later shifted to Mumbai for the operation.
A team of 11 doctors, led by eminent cardiac surgeon Dr Ramakanta Panda, was attending on the Chief Minister.
