Sixty cases of swine flu have been reported so far in Punjab this year.
Punjab Health Minister Brahm Mohindra said on Thursday that 140 suspected cases were tested of which 60 were found to be positive.
He said that seven patients with complications and ongoing other illnesses have died in the State.
Mr. Mohindra held a high-level meeting with senior officials of the Health Department to review preparedness to fight swine flu.
He said in a statement that guidelines for management of swine flu have already been circulated to all the districts of the State.
“Separate isolation wards for management of Influenza A H1N1 have been established at three government medical colleges, 22 district hospitals and 41 sub-divisional hospitals of the State,” the Minister said.
