BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday ruled out the possibility of the BJP apologing to Muslims for the 2002 Gujarat riots, and equated Modi rajya to Ram rajya. “There is no question of an apology ... Rajnath ji had merely said that the party would work for Muslims, and if it failed then an apology would be in order.”
“All this maafi should be done by the Congress since they have looted everyone in the name of secularism.”
Mr. Naqvi, the convener of the BJP’s election management committee for the Lok Sabha polls, also expressed confidence that the NDA would secure over 300 seats in the election. The party, he added, would most likely announce the final list of its candidates by March-end.
