The Marayamuttom police arrested a village officer for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl.
The accused was identified as Vijayakumar, 43, of Keezharoor, near Aryancode. He is the village officer at the Vazhichal village office. He has been accused of harassing the victim at the Perumkadavila primary health centre late on Monday.
The incident occurred when he had sought treatment at the hospital after sustaining minor injuries in an accident.
Booked under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the accused village officer was remanded in judicial custody.
