Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran has sought the intervention of Union Minister for Surface Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari to sort out the issues regarding toll collection at Paliakkara.

In a letter to Mr. Gadkari, based on a meeting with his Cabinet colleagues and legislators, the Minister has pointed out the violations committed by the company collecting toll. The letter said the company was not undertaking repair works on the stretch.

The Minister pointed out that toll was being collected from motorists for 68 km by the company, including the 23-km Edapally-Angamaly corridor that had been improved using State funds. Mr. Sudhakaran has sought the intervention of the Union Minister to solve the issues facing the toll plaza and to protect the interests of the State and its citizens.
