The Hindu Group hands over ₹4.75 crore to Kerala

Over ₹3.36 crore contributed by readers for flood relief

The ₹4,75,67,755 collected by The Hindu Publishing Group towards the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, to support the government’s initiative to rebuild the State after the devastation caused by floods in August, was handed over to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday.

N. Ram, Chairman, THG Publishing Private Limited, The Hindu Group's publishing company, handed over a demand draft for ₹4,75,67,755 to the Chief Minister at his office here.

Of the ₹4.75 crore, ₹3,50,67,755 is the contribution from The Hindu Relief Fund received from readers of The Hindu (₹336.67 lakh) and the contribution from its employees (₹14 lakh).

A sum of ₹1 crore was contributed by THG Publishing Pvt. Ltd. and ₹25 lakh is the contribution from Kasturi and Sons Ltd.
