Fourteen divisions in Ernakulam District Panchayat have been reserved for women.

Of this, two are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and one for Scheduled Tribe.

The general seats reserved for women are Nedumbassery (division 22); Alangad (23); Kottuvally (25); Moothakunnam (2); Vypeen (27); Kadungalloor (24); Vengola (19); Mulanthuruthy (15); Avoli (11); Kalady (5); Kodanad (6). The wards reserved for Scheduled Caste include Vallarpadam (17) and Neriamangalam (9). Puthencruz (17) is reserved for a candidate under the Scheduled Caste (general).

Training to voters

Election Commission will provide training to the voters on using the electronic voting machines for the local body elections.

There will be three EVMs in a booth having grama, block, and district panchayat wards. New voters will be familiarised with the election process through this training programme. A voter has to cast three votes for the grama panchayat, block and district panchayat wards respectively.
