The police team probing the abduction and sexual harassment of a woman actor in Kochi filed a chargesheet against seven persons, including Sunil Kumar Surendran, aka ‘Pulsar’ Suni, the key accused.

The chargesheet, filed before the Judicial First Class Magistrate in Angamaly, runs into 315 pages and has testimonials of 165 witnesses.

It has arraigned seven persons including Pulsar Suni, Vijeesh, Manikandan, Martin Joseph, Pradeep, Salim, and Charley Thomas, as the accused in the case.

According to the police, all the accused, except Charley Thomas, have been booked on the charges of kidnapping, rape, and criminal intimidation under Indian Penal Code Sections 120 (b), 342, 366, 376, 506 (1), 212 and 341 and Section 66 E, 67 A of the IT Act.

Charley Thomas, who had provided accommodation for Suni and his accomplice in Coimbatore, has been found guilty of involving in a criminal conspiracy.

Despite an extensive search, the police are yet to recover the mobile phone used by the accused to capture the actor’s video.

Meanwhile, officials said the ongoing probe into the criminal conspiracy behind the episode would continue and as part of it, the sleuths also planned to interrogate Pratheesh Chacko, lawyer of Pulsar Suni after taking him into custody.

The police have already interrogated the lawyer a couple of times following Suni’s statement that he had handed over the mobile phone containing the actor’s footage to Mr. Chacko.

Incident on Feb 17

The incident took place on February 17 when a gang led by Pulsar Suni allegedly intercepted the actor’s car on National Highway 544 near Parambayam. The victim was en route to Kochi after a shooting session in Thrissur.
