An orientation programme for fresh undergraduate students of various programmes under the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) will be held at its headquarter at Pookode from October 29 to 31.
The three-day programme is being organised by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship of the varsity in association with Directorate of Students’ Welfare.
The programme envisages sensitizing the students on various activities of the university including Directorates of Academics and Research, Entrepreneurship and constituent Colleges, T.P. Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship, KVASU, says.
Experts will handle various sessions on ragging and sexual abuse in educational institutions, the power of emotional intelligence, motivation and mentoring, developing smart personality with high-level competencies, transactional analysis, cyber crimes, prospects of veterinary, dairy, food technology and poultry sciences courses during the orientation programme, Dr. Sethumadhavan said.
Counselling sessions and group task are also the part of the programme, he added.
KVASU Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Ashok will inaugurate the programme at 10 a.m. on October 29.
Close to 600 first year students studying in various colleges under the varsity will attend the programme, Dr. N. Divakaran Nair, Director, Directorate of Students’ Welfare said.
Cultural programmes including a Kathakali performance of the Kerala Kalamandalam troupe and a Carnatic music concert of Mathangi Sathyamoorthy will also be held in connection with the programme, Dr. Nair added.
