Kudumbashree opens matrimonial unit

Franchisee begins service in Kollam

The services of Kudumbashree matrimonial, the match-making agency launched by the women’s self-help group, will be now available in Kollam.

The first Kudumbashree bureau in the district has started functioning in Vilakkudi Ambalam Junction in Pathanapuram block panchayat.

Headed by micro entrepreneurship consultants N.Geetha and K.R. Sreekala, the bureau comes under the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), a project being implemented by Kudumbashree .

The first Kudumbashree matrimonial agency was started in Thrissur and the second in Kollam is a franchisee of the Thrissur bureau.

According to officials, the Thrissur bureau was quite a success prompting them to expand its operations to other districts as well. While the Kollam bureau charges ₹250 for one year from women the rates for men are ₹500 (SSLC), ₹750 (Plus Two) and Degree ₹1000 (Degree).

The agency also has provisions to cross-check the details given at the time of registration.

Pathanapuram block panchayt president S.Sajeesh, district panchayt vice president S.Venugopal and Kudumbashree district mission ADM C. Saboora Beevi were present.
