Kerala BJP warns LDF govt. against allowing women into Sabarimala temple

Any such attempt by the government in the name of technicalities regarding the court’s decision would invite serious repercussions, says party’s Kerala leader M.T. Ramesh

Bharatiya Janata Party State general secretary M.T. Ramesh has warned the Left Democratic Front government against permitting the entry of women into the Sabarimala temple in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday to refer the issue to a larger seven-judge Bench.

Any such attempt by the government in the name of technicalities regarding the court’s decision would invite serious repercussions, he told mediapersons here.

The government must shed its adamant stance and file a new affidavit after rectifying the mistakes it made earlier on the issue, he said.

The Travancore Devaswom Board should adopt a position in favour of the devotees when the matter came up before the larger-Bench, Mr. Ramesh said.
