IIM-K records 100% placement for one-year MBA batch

Highest salary offered ₹69.3 lakh; average pay ₹30.41 lakh

The second batch of the one-year residential Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL), at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIMK) has achieved a 100% placement in record time this season. The average salary secured by the students stood at ₹29 lakh per annum, an increase of 20.1% over the past year, while the median salary was ₹25 lakh, an increase of 22.2% over the past year, a press statement said here on Wednesday.

The recruitment saw the participation of 52 companies, which made 62 offers, including one international offer, to 53 participating students. The highest salary offered was ₹69.3 lakh while the average package secured by women participants stood at ₹30.41 lakh.  The batch comprised a diverse cohort of participants with pre-MBA work experience in varied sectors such as manufacturing, technology, automotive, energy, retail, finance, healthcare, legal services, and family business.

Nearly 42% of the hirings were rolled out by the consulting cluster and 22% of the offers were from the information technology and analytics domain. The holistic pedagogy at IIM-K continued to be recognised by organisations with over 25% of the offers being made for general management and operations roles. Sales and marketing, and finance roles were offered to 7% and 3% students respectively.  Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM-K, said that this diverse offering, for a second time running, had proved that the mission of the institute to nurture young professionals with experience as potential business leaders, was on a sound academic and industry footing.  Prof. Qambar Abidi, placements chairperson at IIM-K, said that the increasing success of the business leadership programme was a testimony to the faith of recruitment partners in the high-intensity and holistic curriculum and regimen followed at the institute.
