Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) chairman V.S. Achuthanandan has said that government services to the public should be reformed as per the need of the hour.
Addressing the public at a sitting of the panel at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad district on Wednesday, Mr. Achuthanandan said that the administrative systems and administrative reforms were only the machineries to execute the decisions of a government for the welfare of the public in a democratic set-up .
The Commission was discussing with the public on a citizen centric administration and it was also trying to collect the public opinion through its public interaction programmes, Mr.Achuthanandan said.
“Proper service from government offices is the right of a citizen,” Mr. Achuthanandan said.

The panel would recommend to the government to adopt steps to address various issues of the public, especially the issues such as accelerating man animal conflict and environmental issues related to tribal people in the district, he said.
The panel received close to 80 citizen centric grievances at the sitting.
