Dalit and tribal workers of the Congress on Friday took out a march to the venue of a high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Mukkali near here demanding judicial probe into the lynching of mentally challenged tribal youth Madhu. The protesters were prevented from moving to the meeting venue by the police when the march reached Mukkali Junction.

Senior Congress leader Kodikunnil Suresh, MP, who inaugurated the protest, declared that the Congress would continue its agitation till the demand for a judicial probe was met by the State government.

Charge against govt

He alleged that the State government and the Chief Minister were adopting a lackadaisical attitude towards the incident of mob lynching and the dismal State of the tribespeople in Attappady.
