Over 100 youths were provided training under District Collector K. Vasuki on Thursday to reduce climate change and measures to avoid human-made disasters.

The volunteer training programme was organised at the Chamber of Commerce Hall, Kowdiar, under the Sthithi project of the District Collector’s internship programme Change Can Change Climate Change (C Power 5). The programme was organised as C5 has identified the importance of volunteer training after witnessing the spirit of youth and participation of the volunteers during the mid-August flood relief works. Around 11,500 volunteers gave their services in flood relief camps.

The volunteer training focussed on mentoring the volunteers to stand on the projects raised by C5 and to enable them provide their service during any situation. Students from various educational institutions in the district participated in the training.
