Airport proposed for Wayanad

The hill districts of Wayanad and Idukki are to get airports, and a sum of Rs.50 lakh each has been earmarked to carry out feasibility studies for the same, Minister for Finance K.M. Mani has said. Presenting the budget 2012-13 in the State Legislative Assembly here on Monday, the Minister said a sum of Rs.50 crore had been earmarked for the development of the Kannur International Airport Ltd. The government would expedite the steps for acquiring 22 acres of land needed for the second phase development of the Thiruvananthapuram international airport.
