Poet and film-maker Sreekumaran Thampi will inaugurate a meeting here on Friday to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of Malayalam novelist Nooranad Haneef.
Mr. Thampi will present this year’s Nooranad Haneef Literary Award to writer Shemy and launch the cookery book Veettu Pachakam authored by Shayla Anzari on the occasion.
Haneef had authored of 25 novels. He had served as member of the Kerala Sahithya Akademi, advisory committee member of Akashavani, Thiruvananthapuram, member of the Authors Guild of India and also as governing body member of the Quilon Public Library and Research Centre.
His first novel Theeram Kanaatha Thiramalakal was published in 1967. Other novels include Gotha , Ivide Janichavar , Athirathram , Adimakalude Adima and Champalinte Puthri . He had written two travelogues, Thalasthanam Muthal Thalasthanam Vare and Nizaminte Naattil .
