3,000 petitions more at CM’s helpdesk

Revenue Minister sanctions relief worth Rs 7.77 lakh

As many as 3,000 petitioners thronged the Collectorate here, seeking to redress their grievances at the mass contact programme convened by Minister for Revenue Adoor Prakash on Tuesday.

The programme was organised for the petitioners who could not turn up for the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme held earlier on April 30 due to the nationwide motor transport strike.

The Minister, accompanied by K. Sivadasan Nair, MLA, A. Sureshkumar, municipal chairman, and S. Harikishore, District Collector, heard the grievances of the petitioners.

Mr Prakash sanctioned financial relief worth Rs.7.77 lakh at the programme.

With this, the total number of petitions received at the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme has gone up to 22,586, according to official sources.

Plea to officials

Addressing the programme, the Minister called upon the officials to give due respect to all petitions received at various offices and render a humane treatment to the petitioners.

On CM’s directive

He said the mass contact programme of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had help thousands. Tuesday’s programme was too held on the directions of the Chief Minister, the Revenue Minister said.

The programme began at 10 a.m. and concluded by 4.10 p.m.
