In a bid to put pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s high command, the supporters of former Minister and BJP senior leader, Sogadu Shivanna, submitted resignation to their office-bearer posts in the party demanding ticket for him from Tumakuru city legislative assembly constituency.

Addressing a joint press conference in Tumakuru on Thursday, vice-president of Tumakuru city unit of BJP M.B. Panchaksharaiah said the party high command had not announced the ticket to Mr. Shivanna in the first list though he has worked for the party for the past several decades from the period of Jan Sangh.

He wanted a ticket to Mr. Shivanna to be announced in the second list.

Office bearers Lakshminarasimharaju, M.P. Kumaraswamy, Kantharaju, Banashankari Babu and a few others have submitted their resignation.
