Senior citizens felicitated

Senior citizens from all walks of life were felicitated by the Maanaviya Kalyan Trust for their achievements in different fields to mark International Day of Older Persons in Kalaburagi on Thursday.

The former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh, speaking after being felicitated, called upon youths to respect their elders and lead the life on the advice given by the senior members in the family.

Basavaraj Patil, MP, expressed displeasure over the increase in the number of old-age homes and called upon youths to spend time and interact with senior members of the family.

Mr. Patil expressed his displeasure over the trend of humiliation and abuse of elderly persons in the society.

Deputy Commissioner Vipul Bansal said that the younger generation had forgotten their moral and ethical duties towards their parents.
