Mass yoga day at Sirsi
International Yoga Day will be held at TSS sales yard here on June 21 under the auspices of voluntary organisations of Sirsi, said a release on Thursday. A mass yoga practice will be conducted for the public at 6.30 a.m. on the day. A preparatory meeting was held at Anantrao Bilgi Memorial Nisarga Hospital at Sirsi recently and a decision was taken to make yoga day a success with the collaboration of voluntary organisations such as Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, IMA, Taluka Journalists’ Association, TSS, Patanjali Yoga Kendra, Nisarga Trust, Government Employees Association, GSB Seva Vahini and others.
Retired professor and Sanskrit scholar R.V. Shastri died at his residence in Sahyadri Colony here on Wednesday at the age of 88. He was ill for some time now. He is survived by a son and two daughters. His funeral rites were held on Thursday.
