Rly. staff stage protest

September 19, 2019 10:11 pm | Updated 10:11 pm IST - Mysuru

Members of the South Western Railway Mazdoor Union, Mysuru Division, staged a demonstration in the city on Thursday against the government’s policy of privatising and corporatising the railways. The demonstration was part of the ‘Warning Week’ observed across the zone and the agitating railway employees have opposed the formation of the new entity called the Indian Railway Rolling Stock Company proposed in the 100 days’ action plan, issued by the Ministry of Railways.

There are also proposals to hand over the operation of certain trains to private parties and the employees want the proposals dropped.
