October 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:35 am IST - KALABURAGI:

Hyderabad Karnataka Raitha Sangha has demanded that the Congress high command replace Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge to ensure development of Hyderabad Karnataka region.

President of the sangha Dhayanand Patil told presspersons here on Thursday that after Mr. Siddaramaiah assumed charge as the Chief Minister, development of the backward Hyderabad Karnataka region had taken a back seat in the agenda of the State government.

The only hope for the people of the region and its development was Mr. Kharge, who as the Union Minister had proved what he could do for the region. As the Union Labour Minister, he sanctioned the multicrore ESIC Medical Education Complex and the Regional Provident Fund Office for Kalaburagi, and as the Railway Minister, he sanctioned a number of projects and ensured the creation of Gulbarga Railway Division.

Mr. Patil charged Mr. Siddaramaiah and Minister of State for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda with neglecting the problems being faced by farmers and failing to provide any relief to farmers. .
