MP Suresh Angadi speaks at a press conference in Belagavi on Thursday.

“People who raise ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans should be shot dead,’’ BJP leader and MP Suresh Angadi said in Belagavi on Thursday.

He alleged before presspersons that supporters of MLA and Congress candidate Firoze Sait had raised pro-Pakistan slogans during a poll campaign rally. “Such people should be shot,’’ he said.

Some lawyers sympathetic to the BJP have filed a case against the MLA. Mr. Sait has denied the allegations. He has alleged that the video showing the slogans was doctored. He has filed a complaint with the city police, the cyber crimes division and the Election Commission.
