The day-long drizzle that occurred in almost all parts of the district disrupted normal life in Mandya on Friday.
The town witnessed a steady drizzle through the day because of the impact of Cyclone Ockhi. However, it brought down the temperature significantly.
The drizzling began in the early hours and continued even after evening. Shopkeepers on either side of major roads said that the business was dull as most people preferred to stay indoors owing to the cold weather. Business was down by at least 65% on Friday, said shopkeepers on V.V. Road here.
The inflow of visitors at major tourism destinations in the district, mainly at Melkote and Srirangapatna, was also poor owing to the continuous drizzle. The situation at other taluk centres in the district was also similar.
