The coming session of the State Legislature, scheduled to be held in Belagavi next month, will take up Bills on providing reservations in promotions to Dalits, curbing superstitions and regulation of private hospitals.

Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the session will discuss these pro-people Bills before passing them.

The session will also discuss various other issues including the ones pertaining to north Karnataka.

He was replying to a question on the threat of the BJP to stay away from the session on various issues including their demand for resignation of Minister for Bengaluru City Development K.J. George against whom a FIR has been registered in connection with the suicide of Deputy Superintendent M.K. Ganapathy.

“We are not running the legislature session for the sake of BJP. We are holding the session to discuss people’s problems. If they are boycotting the session, they are against pro-people laws,” Mr. Siddaramaiah added.
