Minor girl found dead in forest in Udupi district

A 17-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the forest area of Henberu village in Byndoor police station limits of Udupi district on Wednesday.

The girl had left for college in the morning from her house at Henberu.

When she did not return home, her relatives began a search for her and found the body in the forest.

The police reached the spot and began investigating the case.

Post-mortem

K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu that the girl’s body had been shifted to Kasturba Hospital in Manipal for post-mortem.

“Only after the post-mortem report, can the exact cause of death be ascertained,” he said.
