Kundgol Assembly bypoll on May 19

Published - April 10, 2019 12:25 am IST - Bengaluru

The byelection to Kundgol Assembly seat, which fell vacant following the demise of Municipal Administration Minister C.S. Shivalli, will be held on May 19.

The three-time MLA passed away in March following a cardiac arrest.

The notification for the bypoll will be issued on April 22, which will start the nomination process, and the last date for filing nominations is April 29. The bypoll will coincide with the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The counting of votes will be held on May 23, along with that of the parliamentary polls.

Along with Kundgol, bypolls to five other Assembly constituencies — Panaji in Goa and four constituencies in Tamil Nadu — will also be held on May 19.
