The Bharatiya Janata Party State unit submitted a list of suggestions from around one lakh people for the party’s election manifesto to the central leadership on Saturday.
The party elicited the views of people from different walks of life through crowdsourcing. Prescribed formats for filling in suggestions were circulated among the public.
M.H. Sridhar, party’s State convener for manifesto coordination, told The Hindu that suggestions had been invited on 19 specific subjects, including national security, agriculture, energy, education, infrastructure, housing, urban and rural development, environment, health, women and child welfare, information technology, industry, tourism and governance.
The party had also requested 40 experts from different fields to give their views, he said.
Submitted Mr. Sridhar said the responses were compiled into a 30-page book and submitted to the central leaders, including BJP’s national manifesto committee chairman Murli Manohar Joshi.
