Juvenile arrested for murder of minor girl

Her partially burnt body found near passage of a house

The city police arrested a juvenile for the murder of a nine-year-old schoolgirl whose partially burnt body was discovered on Thursday.

Anita, a resident of Chennagiri Koppal near Jayanagar and a 2nd standard student of Kaginele Vidya Samsthe, had gone missing two days ago and her partially burnt body was discovered near a passage of a house on Thursday evening.

Officials’ visit

DCP Vinayak Patil and other senior police officials had visited the spot and fingerprint experts and sniffer dogs were also pressed into service.

The victim’s sister Sunita had witnessed Anita talking to a stranger and the police based on the information provided by her questioned many youths of the locality, including those who had last seen Anita. Finally, they zeroed in on a youth who reportedly confessed to the crime during preliminary interrogation.
