A senior officer heading the Bengaluru Rural district police has caused much embarrassment to the force after a software engineer filed a complaint with the Koramangala police accusing him of having an affair with his wife.
The complainant submitted a video clip allegedly showing Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled with the complainant’s wife. “The video has gone viral and is a matter of concern as the officer is in his police uniform,” said a senior police officer.
Based on the complaint filed on Thursday, the police have taken up a non-cognizable case under Section 497 (adultery) of the Indian Penal Code, and are seeking the court’s permission to file an FIR as he is an IPS officer.
The complainant also approached senior officers at the police headquarters seeking an inquiry into Guled’s actions claiming that he was being threatened and blackmailed. The police are looking into these allegations.
