Heavy rain leads to increase in water inflow of reservoirs

There has been an increase in the inflow of water to major reservoirs in the district owing to incessant rain.

The reservoir constructed across Tunga River in Gajanur near Shivamogga has attained full level of 588.24 metre owing to which 10,000 cusec water is being discharged from it to the river.

The water level in Linganamakki reservoir has increased by two feet in a span of 24 hours. On Sunday, the water level at the reservoir was at 1,756 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet. An inflow of 13,680 cusec was recorded here.

The water level in Bhadra reservoir has reached 139 feet against the maximum level of 186 feet. An inflow of 10,100 cusec was recorded here.
