The annual flower show will be opened for public on January 6 and it will go on till January 12.
The Department of Horticulture, in association with the Mandya Zilla Panchayat and the District Horticulture Association, has organised the event at the park maintained by it near the Deputy Commissioner’s office here.
The department will put up stalls focussing on gardening and ornamental flowers during the show.
The park has already been decorated with a large number of medicinal and aromatic plants, bonsais and different varieties of flowers. Minister for Housing and in-charge of the district M.H. Ambareesh, Minister for Horticulture Shamanur and others are expected to attend the inaugural function, K. Rudresh, Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, told presspersons here.
The department is also organising competitions in rangoli drawing, vegetable carving and ikebana shows.
