Fisheries to be part of Krishi Mela in Raichur this year

P.M. Salimath, Vice-Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences Raichur, has said that fisheries sector will be included in the Krishi Mela for the first time this year.

He told presspersons on Monday that the mela would be a four-day affair from this year, which would be held on the university campus in Raichur for four days from December 27.

Filling posts

Prof. Salimath said that the government had given a green signal to fill 855 teaching and non-teaching posts in the university and a notification would be issued soon as per the reservation norms of Article 371(J) of the Constitution.

He said that the administrative building of the university constructed at a cost of Rs. 24 crore was nearing completion and it would be inaugurated during the Krishi Mela. Prof. Salimath said that the university had decided to invite Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to inaugurate the building.
