Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said he derives more happiness by engaging himself in the film world than politics.
Briefing reporters about the on-going shooting of “Jaguar,” the movie in which he is launching his son Nikhil Kumar, Mr. Kumaraswamy said his engagement in making movies helps him ease the stress of politics.
“In politics, I am dependent on others,” he said and added that the scenario was quite different in films.
Yet, Mr. Kumaraswamy sought to clarify that he was disillusioned with politics.
“I believe that a lot of people have faith in me to deliver the goods”, he said reiterating his resolve to quit politics afters the 2018 Assembly polls if he does not receive the blessings of the people.
“I don’t want to impose myself on the people,” the Janata Dal (Secular) leader said.
He also recalled his association with the film industry before he entered politics about 13 years ago.
Mr. Kumaraswamy said that he would have been able to contribute to the Kannada film industry by producing good quality movies had he not become busy in political life.
Regarding the movie, Mr. Kumaraswamy said portions of the movie were shot at the Infosys campus in Mysuru.
The shooting will continue at different locations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and abroad, he said. The movie is slated for release by Dasara later this year, Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
