Jannaghatta Gram Panchayat member T.V. Thimmarayappa inaugurated pure drinking water unit sponsored by Canara Bank in the village on Monday.

There are 450 households in the village. Another purified water unit will be set up in future for the convenience of the residents, Mr. Thimmarayappa said. User cards were distributed to the villagers on the occasion.

The unit was set up as the tube well water in the village was contaminated with fluoride content. MLA K.R. Rameshkumar got the unit installed by Canara Bank when the problem was brought to his notice, the GP member said.

Canara Bank officials Shashank, Prabhu Hiremath, S. James and folk singer Jannaghatta Krishnamurthy participated among others.
