The CBSE results may have come too late for many students since several degree colleges have already filled their seats. Though CBSE and ICSE results come after PUC results every year, the gap this year has been more than a fortnight.
Anusha Gupta from CMR National Public School said many of her peers had already completed college admissions. “I am not sure if there will be adequate seats left,” she said. Swetha Susan Saji said “there is panic among CBSE students” since the college admission process is delayed owing to delay in results. Suchir Mithal, a student of NPS, Indiranagar, said the delay in results had affected his prospects to study abroad.
Some of the degree college managements The Hindu spoke to said they had reserved some seats for ISC and class 12 CBSE students. “We start admissions after PU results are announced. We cannot wait for central boards to announce results as there is a huge rush for seats. But, we will accommodate as many ISC and CBSE students as we can,” said A.V. Chandrashekar, principal, PES Degree College.
