Dayanand Sagar College bags most ranks

Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), Bengaluru, has topped the list of 78 engineering colleges affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), which have bagged ranks in various under graduate/post graduate courses during the academic year 2013-14. The DSCE has won 58 ranks out of the total 422 ranks secured by 78 colleges, followed by Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT), Bengaluru-22 and PESIT, Bengaluru-20.

Ahad Tarade of Karnataka Law Society’s Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belagavi has topped among gold medallists with 13 (11 gold medals and 2 cash prizes) awards, followed by Abhilash A.S. of BIT, Bengaluru who won 7 gold medals. A total of 24 candidates have won 90 medals and cash prizes.

Honorary Degree

He said that K. Chidananda Gowda, former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University, Shivamogga, was likely to be selected for the VTU’s honorary degree (Honoris Causa) of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.). His name was among the 15 eminent personalities recommended by the VTU Syndicate to the State government.
