Conference on geospatial technology from Friday

The SMV Institute of Technology and Management will be organising a national conference on Geospatial Information and Technology Advancement (GITA-2K15) at Bantakal in Udupi district on October 16 and 17. According to a press release issued by the institute here on Tuesday, the conference is sponsored by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy. Geospatial technology is a term used to describe the range of modern tools contributing to the geographic mapping and analysis of the earth and human societies. The conference will focus on the present status and future trends in geospatial technology. It will also focus on research and development in this field. Uday Raj, General Manager, Regional Remote Sensing Center, ISRO, Bengaluru, will inaugurate the conference.
