CBI probe sought for IAS officer death

A padayatra from Siddaganga Mutt here to Raj Bhavan, seeking CBI probe into the death of IAS officer was flagged off by mutt Seer Shivakumara Swami, who urged the State Government to initiate a proper inquiry into the death.

Members of organisations such as Brashtachara Virodhi Vedike, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu Jagarana Vedike are taking part in the padayatra.

At Huliyurdurga in Kunigal taluk, residents of Huliyurdurga and surrounding villages staged a protest on Sunday, demanding CBI probe. They burnt flex and banners having Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s photo to show their ire.

Meanwhile, MLA, Puttannaiah visited Doddakoppalu village in Kunigal taluk, where the body of late officer has been laid to rest, to pay respects.
