BJP National Vice-President and the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has appealed to the people of Karnataka to bear with the Congress government in the State for two more years as the BJP’s return to power then would bring back the “good days” for them.

At the party’s “Raitha Chaitanya Yatre” at Kalghatgi in Dharwad district on Sunday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that the people would now have to bear with the “misrule” of the Congress government for the brighter days ahead to be brought to them by the BJP. The former Chief Minister said that the return of the BJP to power in 2018 would put the State back on the path of development. Mr. Yeddyurappa even gave an assurance to the gathering that rural development would receive a boost with the BJP coming to power as Rs. 1 crore would be released for the development of each panchayat.

Reiterating his demand that a legislature session be convened immediately to deliberate on vital issues, including drought, agrarian crisis, Kalasa Banduri Nala Project and IIT, Mr. Yeddyurappa urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to waive all farm loans.

He said that the BJP was committed to solving the Kalasa Banduri Nala Project issue and it was responsibility of the Congress to convince the Opposition in the other riparian States of the Mahadayi for an out-of-court settlement.

The former Minister and MP Shobha Karandlaje lambasted Mr. Siddaramaiah for his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the power crisis in the State, she said that it was the lack of vision and preparations that had pushed the State into darkness.

BJP State president Pralhad Joshi, the former Ministers B. Sriramulu, Basavaraj Bommai, MLA Arvind Bellad and a host of BJP leaders took part in the convention.
